Background

We are an integrated agribusiness company that helps small and medium scale farmers reduce post-harvest food wastage by providing EFFICIENT SOLAR DRYING SOLUTION. Archtech Agro Uganda Ltd operates on FARMER CENTERED MODEL and we know that each farmer is different, which is why all our solutions are customizable. We have a young team of experts with advanced knowledge in post-harvest handling and we provide solar drying technologies that are systematic and analytic in the agriculture sector to enhance the quality of products on the world market, address climate action and reduce post-harvest losses.

Small and medium scale farmers in Uganda annually lose over 30% their produce due to poor post-harvest handling practices especially during drying and storage and imported drying technologies in the market are unaffordable for small holder farmers to own, operate and maintain. We believe providing small and medium scale farmers with affordable solar drying solutions and climate resilient technologies will prove to be greater positive impact and value

Our Business Model

PAY FOR DRYING SERVICE: The “pay for drying” service model is a concept we have designed to provide smallholder farmers with access to drying facilities for their agricultural produce, typically grains, fruits, or vegetables. Pay for drying model provides farmers with the better option since they don’t have own or maintain the solar drying machine, and this also provides farmers with wider choice to pay for drying after sale of their produce and based on individual production,this model allows segmented approach because it creates employment opportunities as personnel are hired to operate and secure the machines and farmers are able do timely deliveries of their products to market and earn better prices because the can dry their produce in time and store them for longer period.

By providing access to drying facilities and services, it addresses infrastructure gaps, enhances agricultural productivity, address climate action and contributes to economic development especially in rural communities in eastern Uganda.
